April 22, 2013

Family&Friends! It is a rainy, overcast day here in Naples Florida. Sitting at the library with my dumb boot on can’t wait to get it off tomorrow so I can get back on the court! 🙂 haha just playing, I’ll take it easy!

Last Monday- We had a great lesson with the Louis Family and they are really progressing it is awesome. They are teenage girls who we might have had a problem with the Law of Chastity…(Florida..) haha But they were good with that and kinda complained about the Word of Wisdom.. but we’ll work out the kinks!

Tuesday- Again we taught Jacquiy and he is so solid, he basically taught us about keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. He is great! We had to help all the new missionaries get settled down here in Naples. We got Elder Schenk, one of the new English Elders and he is hilarious! We actually go home together and we just hit it off. One of my great friends out here on the mish. He came to some lessons with us until his companions came down. We went to some sketchy neighborhood where these kids were yelling at us, telling us “you don’t belong here Mormon’s.. You crackers… swearing…” great times! Which is funny because I’m 6’3 and so is Schenk and Wilson is 6’2. not to mention we are all 20! What the junk? These little punk 15 year old’s man.. We taught a good lesson with the Desire Family and they are solid, we talked about temples. We got the other 2 English Elders at like 9 at night in the pouring rain. One is Elder Langi who is the running-back for Utah (Go Cougars) 😉 yes the rivalry continues in Florida.. and Elder Chamberlain a small, nice black kid from SLC. So these Elders are way tight and we are excited to have them in our area and to work with them!

Wednesday- I was companions with Elder Hubbard all day because our companions had a district leader meeting in Tampa. Hubbard just recently got a concussion and is totally out of it, can’t remember a thing! It is so sad and I just basically had to babysit him all day. We got some Panda Express and that was good 🙂 But he just rested all day. We went to activities once Wilson got back and the Desire’s Mom had her interview to be re-submitted or re-baptized and the Dad didn’t come so… the First Presidency might not clear them 😦  We hope they can get re-baptized because without them, we fail with the kids because they all want to be baptized together. Pray for them!

Thursday- We weekly planned and we cannot believe April is basically over.. And it is almost summer and school is about to get out, what the heck?? Time is flyin’! We had some good lessons and taught the Desire Family again on Humility and it went way well, the Dad sat in on the lesson and participated the most, so that was good. We are going to watch 17 Miracles with them soon.

Friday- We had a sick district meeting and then taught Jacquiy. He is getting baptized on April 27th at 11 o’clock! Thing with Haitian’s is they can’t make up their dang decision on who they want to baptize them! They tell us to choose. So Elder Wilson is going to perform the Ordinance and I’ll give him the Holy Ghost the following day. It’ll be great because it’ll be in Creole and we are in a English Ward, so they’ll love it! We had to look for apartments for all the Elders and Sisters down here because we are short 2 apartments and we need to get everyone situated. It’s a mess, and we wanna live by ourselves again!

Saturday- Saturday was way sick!! It was Elder Hogge’s Birthday so we all met half way at Red Robin and went to lunch. I loved seeing all the guys again, we rarely see them because Naples is like a black hole.. It is in a totally different Zone and we never see any of the other Haitian-aries. I need some new b-ball kicks so I got some… hope that was ok 🙂 haha They are so dope!! Black and Neon Green! Imma be ballin’! We then attended a baptism for some other Elders in our District and that was good. We had another Birthday party to go to for this little girl named Ahkilah.. or however you spell it! But her family is less-active so we went to support. We got some great grub of Haitian food and talked with a bunch of “Haitian-Mommies” as we call it.. I’ll explain some day 🙂

Sunday- Probably one of the most stressful Sunday’s! I had to translate non-stop for 3 hours. All of Sacrament, Sunday School and Priesthood to Haitian’s who could care less that they are there.. In fact they take off their head-sets so i’m basically translating for no one. ha one guy even fell asleep in Priesthood while I was sitting right next to him. But I love them so much!! Jacquiy came to church and loved it and can’t wait for his baptism next week! I went home and just crashed out.. When I woke up I was basically in “Zombie-Mode” and not in a good mood 😦 We had to teach some little buy named Darlins who “hates everything” He is 8 and just the biggest trouble maker ever! He got kicked out of Boarding School.. tell me how that happens?? Anyways yesterday just wasn’t my day. We camped out but the window forever waiting for the Spanish Elders to come home so we could ambush them with water guns. They didn’t get home tell 10:35!! Big No-No!! but we still owned them with water.

I hope you all enjoyed your week! It was a great week for me:) I am doing great and can’t wait to be back to normal tomorrow when I get my boot off! I pray for you all and love you all so much! and p.s mom.. I need a new long sleeve shirt.. “16 1/2 34/35 Fitted Poplin” thank you:) Love you mommy! Sorry I don’t have pictures.. I can’t upload them onto the library computers and apparently I look “skinnier” so imma bulk up and then send pictures 🙂

-Love Elder Dallen Thomas

back in the boot…..April 15, 2013

Well, It happened again… 😦 Not as bad as the first time but yes I am back in the boot and just got off the crutches. I get the boot off in a week which will be nice but other then that i’m fine! I received a blessing from my companion and seriously I was healed the next morning. I could move my toes and the lump had gone down and I could walk on my foot again. So I healed great through the power of the Atonement of Christ 🙂 Things have been great down here! Our week was good!

Monday- P-day was just going great until my foot went “pop” again when I landed on another foot. Same injury, different foot. So lame! I did have a lot of down time that night though and managed to solve a rubix cube. yeah, I’m a nerd for sure!

Tuesday- We went to my appointment and I walked up to the counter and told the lady I had an appointment at 2, she was all like “No you don’t”… I kinda just chuckled because this lady is telling me I don’t have an appointment when clearly I made one. When just then I looked around and everyone was staring at me and there was only girls in the lobby.. the lady again said, “trust me dear, you don’t have an appointment here, this is the OBGYN department. hahahaha I looked like such an idiot. They showed me the correct counter to log in at.. Goodness! My comp was just laughing at me. I had a good appointment and found out that it isn’t broken but I injured the bone behind the last one I injured so they couldn’t clearly tell what was wrong with it. He said, “crutches for a week and the boot for 2.” So we bounced to Immokalee to grab my old boot and crutches. It was weird going back there. I miss that place but it’s like I don’t fit in anymore, it was a weird feeling. I said hi to some members and Pierre the little boy that got baptized, I miss that kid! While we were teaching a lesson that night back in Naples, President called me…. I was freaking out!! he said that the boot was good but it prevents people who want to run to walk. And said he had be in contact with SLC.. I was so scared he was going to send me home, my stomach did a summer salt. He told me to call him back when he could talk to both me and Elder Wilson. When we called him later that night, he told us we were staying together in Naples “a long time”!!!! So me and Wilson are way stoked we are staying together and reaping all that we have sowed.

Wednesday- We taught our sick investigator Jacquiy or Jacky he likes to be called. he made us “Pate” which is just a bomb Haitian dish. He basically taught us about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Sacrament, he is so solid I love him!! Pray his date goes through on April 27th! We went to our other date set investigator named Bernadette. It was pouring rain and she let us in:) beautiful lesson and her J-Dub son listened and we want to help him come to church as well. Pray that her date will stay firm for the 4th of May!

Thursday- I should have never told mom about my tooth.. I’m fine!! But now sister summerhays is making me go to the dentist. so lame!! Our day was busy but a lot of people weren’t home. We watched The Prophet of the Restoration with an investigator family and it was so awesome! The mom thanked us for the blessing we gave her a couple weeks back and said it healed her. I love hearing the testimonies of people who can see the Lords power work through us, ordinary men. It is special! Me and Elder Wilson just joke around all the time with Sister Brower the senior missionary down here. It is hilarious and she threatens me she is going to tell my mom about my being a prankster.. haha yeah right, Mom already knows I prank people all the time and I’m a jokester. It won’t come as a surprise to her! right mom?? 🙂 I put my foot in an ice bath and it was the coldest thing ever, oh my! But it helped a lot!

Friday- No joke, Friday was just one of those days.. Everyone and I mean everyone canceled on us! Even some of our members who always have us over canceled. It was crazy! And we can’t go knocking because I have crutches and so our day was a little bit of a waste 😦 The Browers and the sister missionaries came over to give one of them a blessing. She was nervous about going home too because she broke her ankle a couple weeks back. We then taught a Recent Convert and played a little Book of Mormon trivia with her, it was a lot of fun! We came home and played Risk after we nightly planned and I killed off the two Spanish Elders and then Wilson swept through me.. I was upset! haha I never win that dumb game!

Saturday- “Transfer Call Saturday” Tons of crazy things happened, we knew we were staying so it was fun seeing what happened around us. They “white-washed” our Spanish Elders and gave it to sister missionaries… blah! And our old AP is serving in Immokalee as a Haitian Elder.. What the junk?? Everyone who has ever served in Mokee was livid! This kid does not deserve to go there! Especially because he can’t even speak the language. We were all pretty upset but it’s whatever. he’ll do a good job. We went to Taco Bell and the manager is a member and he payed for my food, it was crazy! I was so thankful for that! Such a nice guy! We taught our Recent Convert, Chantania. and that went well. She is such a smart girl, we found out she has only been speaking English for 9 months! She is awesome. We went to a baptism for the Spanish Elders and it didn’t start tell 8:45. so we left right after they did the ordinance. We made food when we got home and I was putting my food in the oven and burnt my finger and jumped back and I elbowed Wilson in the eye socket.. I felt so bad! he is alright though!

Sunday- Longgggg Sunday!! We were at the church from 7am tell 1pm-ish which is a blessing because usually we won’t get out of there tell 2:30-ish! But is was a good Sunday, we had some investigators come to church and it was spiritual. We went to a members house and ate some bomb Haitian food then helped the little girl fly her kite. I love those kids! My calf has been killing me because this dumb boot is preventing me from fully stretching my leg out when I walk!

I hope everyone had a blessed week and continues to have more great weeks to come. I love the work I am embarked in! I am grateful for trials and tribulation, this is the only way we become the sons and daughter are Heavenly Father wants us to become. As we submit to His will, He will bless us. At times it is hard and we fall off the path for a split second but as we fall to our knees and ask to be carried back to the path, He will lead us and guide us back home. Have a great week everyone. Much love from your missionary in Florida.. You know the one who is always broken.. 🙂

April 8, 2013

What a beautiful opportunity we had yesterday to be taught from on high! We were able to hear from Apostles and Prophets and listen to the word of God! I hope we call can soak in the messages and apply them to our lives. 3 main topics were discussed yesterday and Sat. 1. The beauty of missionary work, the chance that we have as members, full-time missionaries and every day people to preach the gospel and share it will all those around us. I hope we all can take the council of our Priesthood Brethren and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am privileged to be apart of this work day in and day out. To see changes in lives of others and bring eternal happiness to all. 2. Eternal Families, how great it is to have the knowledge and understanding that we can live with our loved ones for eternity! I love my family, so much that I separated myself from them for 2 years that I might bring others to the understanding of this eternal truth! 3. The Atonement, my question was answered as Elder Cardon bore a beautiful testimony of forgiveness. Our sins are forgiven! Now, Go and Do the things which we have learned! I love conference and hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

I don’t have my journal with me today so i will try the best I can to remember all that happened! haha Last Monday after we played some b-ball, me and Elder Wilson went bowling! It was sick, I was horrible though because it had been over a year since I’ve played! We had a great lesson with the Louis Family where we committed them to be baptized on May 11th. Hayden’s Birthday!! We are setting hoping to set a calender with them tonight!

Tuesday- We went to a members house and she taught us how to make some Haitian food, then we played some basketball with her 8 year old son. it was a lot of fun, he calls us his brothers! Cute kid! Then we went contacting and finding then ended the night with some more lessons haha sorry this is so generic but I can’t really remember!

Wednesday- Sickest day! We set 2 dates. One with Jacquiy on the 27th of April and he is way excited, we can’t wait for him because he loves the church and is going to be such a faithful member! Then we set one with Bernadette and she is so positive! Oh my when we asked her, she said “yes of course but can we still study until that date so I can be prepared?” so sick!! She will get baptized on the 4th of May! We are sad because this Saturday we get calls to see if we stay of leave. I think one of is out which stinks because we have so much work to do and we want to see the baptisms of all that we’ve helped come unto Christ. Me and Elder Wilson have grown and learned together and love serving together, He will be one of my best friends when we get home for sure!

Thursday- Lame day.. we got a tornado warning and had to hibernate inside all day, so lame! We had a good weekly planning session though! P.s No tornado actually came, we are fine 🙂 there was one 10 miles off the shore though!

Friday- It rained all Friday and that kind of hindered the work, Haitians hate water and won’t even dare going outside when it rains, also, if we were to knock on their door to teach a lesson, because we were wet from the rain, they wouldn’t let us in. So our work goes down when rain comes 😦

Saturday- There was a sweet baptism for the Golden Gate Elders before conference for this girl that they’ve been working with for a really long time, I was able to teach her once while on exchanges so that was really awesome to see her enter the waters of baptism! General Conference was bomb like I said above and that basically covers Sunday too. So great finish to a great week! I love missionary work!! This really is Christ’s work and we are apart of His only true church! Be thankful each day for this privileged! I love you all and wish you the best on your daily adventures this week! Until next week, God be with you!

April 1, 2013

Good Morning and Happy late Easter! I hope everyone had a beautiful day yesterday and enjoyed celebrating the wonderful life of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! And got some goodies from the Easter Bunny 🙂

Tuesday- We had our p-day and it was pretty fun. We tried experimenting and made Haitian food. 🙂 Umm yeah, didn’t taste anything like it, we have some work to do! We want to perfect it so that when we get home we can show ya’ll Haitian food! So we have been asking like every Haitian how to make it and if they’d show us how. We have two ladies showing us tomorrow! haha it’ll be great!

Wednesday- We had ZDM that morning and had a testimony meeting on the Savior, it was awesome! Just been trying to focus on Christ this week before Easter. We went to this hand-off lesson with the sister missionaries for this lady named Marie, she is Haitian and sooo not interested, and all her friend wanted to do was talk about the Bible and the Catholic church, it was so annoying and so unproductive. We didn’t get one word in because this lady wouldn’t stop talking! We had a meeting at the church to figure out the two new wards and how the Haitians will be affected, and we found out that we had a lot of less-actives to go see, so the rest of our week was planned! Then we gave the two sister missionaries blessings and it was beautiful and spiritual. The one sister broke her foot and is on crutches and a boot just like me 🙂 So, I basically tell her everything because I’m pro at being in a boot 🙂

Thursday- We taught a less-active lady at 10 in the morning and she fed us homemade french fries. so bomb! We did a ton of roster work and tried to see less-actives and that was such a failure so we started to go see follow-ups and we ran into a guy named Saindy who was baptized back in ’91 and wants to come to church again. so sick! Looking for less-actives and we found one we didn’t even know about! My package came and I was soooo happy!! New pants, a new tie and most of all my recorder!! I was happy to hear from my family and see how they are doing, i’ll send it back soon because I know what agony it brings to not receive it for 2 months… 😉 just kidding I still love you mom! We went on splits to the Dezire’s and Elder James was making jokes and it was a good time, the parents really want to get re-activated and are excited for this new change with the wards. The 3 kids that we teach and want to get baptized will probably get baptized when the parents get re-baptized. So we are excited for them! We got informed that we are now on full-car so that is nice 🙂 Imma get fat! just kidding!

Friday- We were with the senior couple all day doing busy work with less-actives and investigators. We taught this lady named Bernadette and it was way spiritual, the lesson made Sister Brower cry and Bernadette loves Sister Brower, so we need to get her baptized asap! A member from Ft. Myers came down and brought us lunch and gave us Easter baskets, she gave us both 3 new ties too! So nice! We continued to see less-actives and taught some good lessons. We gave this little boy named Darlins a blessing and it went well, we found out he went into the hospital that next morning 😦 he is having problems with his stomach. The sisters brought us pizza for dinner, they are so nice 🙂 We found out that Elder Wilson (my comp) was at my 18th Birthday party in Provo at Parker’s house.. what a small world, we were freaking out!

Saturday- We had the big ward breakfast in the morning and we got to know some of the members and we hid all the eggs for the Easter hunt! We went to this mans house named Jacky, he is a referral from a member. This guy is the best investigator ever! We found a golden one! He was asking us how long it takes to get baptized and said that he is going to think about a date and tell us, we are just so stoked for this guy! He is so cool and I love him already! Pray for him that he will stay solid and that me and Elder Wilson can stay worthy for this beautiful blessing! We then helped this lady move some clothes from her car to her new house and her daughter was interested so we taught her Lesson 1. We hope to teach the whole family soon. So we are so excited! Saturday’s are my favorite day of the week, so much goes on and it is always awesome!! We taught a recent convert girl and played tag with her in her front yard, it was fun but I don’t like being it… 😦 We went to a baptism that night for the Spanish Elders and our 3 investigators came, Jodi, Johnathan and Sammy. It was sick! I love those kids!! We were so blessed with a beautiful day and we were so thankful! God loves us so much and those we serve, this is His work!

Sunday- Wonderful Easter Sunday. We had to translate all of sacrament meeting for the Naples Ward and then me and Elder Wilson bore our testimonies and introduced ourselves to the ward. I translated Sunday School then we went back to sacrament for Vanderbilt Beach Ward and bore our testimonies again! We were pretty busy! But we had a lot of investigators at church and the 2 new wards are way awesome! It was the first time my whole mission that I sat in a Chapel for sacrament! It was epic! haha I was a little grumpy after church because I hadn’t eaten. The Spanish Elders who live with us thought it’d be funny to switch me and Elder Wilson’s ties and beds.. I was a little ticked but they just started a war they can’t win! We had Easter dinner with the senior couple at a members house and it was good company and good food. We came home and soaked all of Elder Booth’s sock in cold water and put them in the freezer.. hahahaha he didn’t find them tell this morning and it was hilarious, we were crying laughing on the floor. We went to a Haitian members house and gave the 2 little girls Easter baskets and they were so happy because they hadn’t gotten Easter yet. They were very thankful! I love them so much! We got home and played this way sweet game called “Wizard” and i actually lost.. I got creamed haha it’s all good though 🙂 We played another prank on the other Spanish Elder, Elder Rodriguez and while he was sleeping, we flipped his chair and he fell on the ground and was like screaming, it was hilarious! Oh my he didn’t know what was going on or anything, He got back into his chair and fell asleep and we all just laughed for 10 minutes. He woke up this morning and didn’t even know we did that do his last night! So it’s our little secret. shhh. oh man. The war has begun and we are owning them! Haitian-aries rule!

I had a wonderful Easter and a great week, I hope you all had a special Sunday and remembered the Savior of the World. I know that He lives and loves each and everyone of us. His grace is sufficient for all of us. Faith leads to action which leads to Following the Savior and He will lead us home. In His name, even Jesus Christ, Amen.

I love you all!! Have a blessed week! -Elder Dallen Thomas

March 26, 2013

Sorry I didn’t email yesterday we had the conference with Elder Andersen from the Quorum of the 12. Best conference ever. It was so amazing! He has an awesome sense of humor and then has a powerful testimony of the Savior. I got to see tons of my missionary friends and that was good. We don’t have much time today which is a bummer but I am looking forward to Easter and General Conference. Hope and pray everyone is doing good and staying safe! I love you all! I forgot journal so I am going to have to do this all by memory. Nothing much happened this week.

Monday we went to the Twins vs Marlins baseball game and it was legit except for it got rained out and we got soaked! haha It was a lot of fun being there for Elder Stegall’s b-day. We then had Olive Garden afterwards and it was good! Tuesday-Thursday was just missionary work, probably some sweet stories, but i can’t remember haha i’ll update ya’ll later 🙂 On Friday we had interviews with our Mission President and they went well. I voiced my opinion on a new rule that has been really bothering me and it didn’t change his mind 😦 So I live 29 miles away from Immokalee and I can’t go back for baptisms which really hurts me because I love those people, I served them for 9 months. Such a bummer because there has already been 1 baptism who the little girl wanted me to baptize her and I had to tell her no and then now Pierre (the little boy who I promised I’d baptize him and we had such a strong connection with) is getting baptized and I can’t go back.. Not even just to support him. I understand this is the Saviors baptism and all Priesthood is the same, but just be there as a support team and let him know I care… I called to say congratulations and support him and the Elders there are ignoring my phone calls. It has been really frustrating to be taken completely out of these investigators lives and I’m so close to them it hurts. The Lord is trying my faith! On top of that… Our Haitian Branch closed..

This time last year they closed the Haitian Branch in Ft. Myers and there was only one left standing, the one in Naples. On Sunday, they closed it and actually divided the boundaries and now me and Elder Wilson have to cover 2 English Wards with our Haitian members in them. It is no big deal, except on Sundays we have to go to 7 hours of church and translate every meeting. My Creole is going to get so good!! haha The members took the change good and hopefully none are rebellious and leave the church. We have a ton of work to do and we are excited! We also have speculation that the Haitian missionaries in the Florida Tampa Mission are getting dissolved. Meaning no more 😦 They are now having to call English Elders to speak Creole because no calls are getting sent Haitian Creole anymore.. So we will see what happens! We sand in a fireside after church in Creole and it was good! Then we drove to Tampa so we could spend the night before the conference at the mission home. Crazy busy week and this next one will be great as well! I love you all so much and appreciate all that you do for me. I got the Hansen’s package and they are soooo nice! Sickest new ties, I get so many compliments on them!! I am still waiting for my one from V-day, year mark, st. patty’s and Easter… haha just kidding, I bet mom is busy packing or work or something! So stay busy and I love you!
-Elder Dallen Thomas

Good Morning. Man, 1 year down and 1 to go. Crazy?? Sad?? Happy?? All the Above?? I am so happy with how the mission has gone so far and I know it will only continue to get better. Make the last year count, because it really will fly, like everyone says! P.S still haven’t gotten my package.. mom you are awesome 🙂

Tuesday- I don’t know if I can make myself more clear but i sound like a broken record. PERSONAL STUDY is the best!! I love it, i’m trying to grow my testimony on the Atonement and it has become such a wonderful week to study on that topic. I made some blue berry muffins 🙂 haha I sound like a sister missionary.. We got this new investigator named Bernadette and she is awesome, she is positive! Our dropped family named the Louis family texted us and wanted to meet with us right away, so we dropped all our plans and went and taught them. The dad was finally there and we taught such a good lesson! They got anti’ed on temples and stuff and we both bore strong testimonies of the sacredness of our beautiful eternal temples. It was powerful and we picked them back up! The we had another strong lesson with our other investigator family named the Dezire Family. We soft-committed them to April 6th but we haven’t gotten a for sure answer yet. Sick lesson though! Sister Brower should me the text she sent Mom and it was nice! What a great lady! Happy to serve with the Brower’s down here! As we drove home, we pulled of the side of the road and gave Our Heavenly Father thanks for His hand in our work. We are so happy with the people he had placed in our lives and the work that had increased!

Wednesday- After District Meeting we went on a huge Blitz with everyone in our Zone and we got tons of new potentials! We all had a lunch together too after. Apparently the new Pope got “voted” so dumb! He is Latin.. and that might hurt the Spanish Elders work. We followed-up with this man named Excellent in Englsigh, Exelan in Creole… He just sat there all hard-hearted and bashed with us for an hour. He was way intelligent and good at Bible study but she kept saying our Prophet is fake and no one can represent Jesus Christ, it was ridiculous. I had to end up on top of this disaster of a lesson and so I just testified boldly and told him God never changes and Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of the only true church on the earth… never going back there! I was so heated! haha We gave Sister and Elder Brower blessings at activities because they are really having a hard time, bless their hearts! The Haitian culture is hitting them hard 😦 Sister Larrabee and Sister Miles are 2 Sister missionaries in our district and they made us all this food and gave us a gift card to a grocery store. They are so nice but there had to be a meaning behind their madness…

Thursday- YEAR MARK! What up! We blessed this Romanian lady’s house and it went well! Then we had to five Sister Miles a blessing.. well, they have this investigator who has a crush on them and then needed us to assist them in their lesson. Goodness! So we taught Kevin, and red-head 34 year old Irish guy from Boston.. Totally Hippy too, he is legit though! haha We had the coolest lesson with him and the spirit was so strong! Wilson committed him to be baptized and he said he needed to figure out some legal issues before he makes the commitment but basically he is getting baptized sooner or later! We went to Olive Garden for my year mark and it was so good! I got G&G Jensen’s package and that was good! We had another lesson with the Dezire’s and watched Mormon Messages. We had to do some sort of sacrifice for my year mark and Elder Wilson’s was recent too so we decided to burn some ties! haha it was sweet and a lot of fun. The neighbor asked if we were going to burn down the apartment complex and we told her that was our next plan… haha seriously though. dumbest question ever! Great day! 1 year baby!!

Friday- Me and Elder Nielsen (a Spanish Elder) did an exchange, so he was my comp for the day. He is a way nice kid, way humble and way sweet! I love him! We gave another Peace and Blessing and then saw some recent converts. We taught this girl named Landy and during it her Grandma came in and interrupted everything! She just barely moved here from Haiti the day before and kept telling me she doesn’t accept religion, she is just a disciple of Christ.. So Elder Nielsen can’t speak Creole, I taught this grandma lady by myself and it was crazy! Words just fell out of my mouth and my testimony grew of the gift of tongues. Wow, I was amazed and she asked me if i taught her more if she could get baptized… are you serious?? A Haitian asking me if they can get baptized… ?? Umm no! This never happens. I was so stoked! We are going back this week to hopefully teach the whole family! Small wonderful miracles!! Elder Nielsen said he was just praying for me the whole time, well if worked! 🙂 Then we had a dinner appointment with a Spanish member and it was so bomb food! Those little girls I taught in Immokalee wrote me and it was so cute! I love them, I hope the Elders there can get them baptized 🙂

Saturday- I had a good language study and I am learning some Creole songs 🙂 it’ll be legit! We helped the sisters out again with the lesson with Kevin and again it was spiritual and powerful. He is really struggling but is so open to the gospel.  Kevin is a good guy, I like him. The sisters are handing him over to us, so that we will just teach him. We had to get it approved because obviously he isn’t Haitian but we got approved and we are stoked to teach this guy! We are going to dunk a white guy!! haha so sick!

Sunday- Happy St. Patty’s Day!! Ya’ll get pinched?? Haha good thing I have the sickest green tie! i didn’t get pinched! Church went well, I tried to translate for this white lady but she never took breaks and I never got a chance to speak, lame! We had a dinner well lunch appointment with a member HAITIAN member.. finally!! haha her little girls are so cute and we had a blast, she was trying to teach us how to make Haitian food and Elder Wilson burned himself… haha. The mom named Guetti bounced and said “M’ap Vini” which means i’m coming back.. And left us there with her two daughters.. haha we just sat outside and they rode their scooters around and it was fun! Then we had another dinner appointment ANOTHER HAITIAN! would you look at that, our members finally coming through for us! She made this chicken called Pepsi Chicken.. wow is was so good!! Then they made me eat this tuna-cucumber thing and I ate it all in one bite and had the hardest time keeping it down… haha they all just laughed at me but at least I ate it! I played with their little daughter named Ackeelah. Oh my goodness, why are Haitian kids so cute?? I wanna bring one home with my! Plus when they actually speak Creole it makes them 20 times cuter! So we found out that Elder Neal A. Anderson is coming to our mission next Monday!!!! An Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ is coming to talk to us and we are all so stoked!! It is mission-wide so i’ll get to see all my mission friends again! I am so stoked!! Great Sabbath day!

Well I love you all so much! It is my trainers b-day today, Elder Stegall and we are going to another Spring Training Baseball game 🙂 It is the Marlins vs the Twins. It’ll be sick and I have to get off now 🙂 wish me luck that I can stay sun-free!! haha I love you and pray for you! You all are so blessed to be members of the Lords Church. Serve Him always!
