Good Morning Family!!

Monday- After P-day we went to a members house for dinner, they work with the youth out in Immokalee but live in Naples, so i’ve known them for a long time. We had good food and oh yeah the dad, Elder Thompson is an Area 70! They got out their scrap books of the scouts in Mokee and the first page is me with my baptisms! It was so cool to see!

Tuesday- We switched companions at Red Robin in the pouring rain and it was sad to say bye to Wilson but good to get Olschewski! First night taking over the area and I double-booked dinner appointments.. what is this? I’m not a grennie 😦 Had a good dinner then saw some less active members to finish off the night. The 2 little girls did my hair and put purple extentenions in my hair haha

Wednesday- I had to go to a District Leader Meeting all day and that was fun, good to see some of my good missionary friends that I haven’t seen it a while. Had dinner with another member when we got back and then got finding blessings from our bishop, which were really helpful!

Thursday- We taught some less-actives and one of them was saying the closing prayer and then whipped her kid with a belt during it and then continued with the prayer! so funny! I bought some Haitian cd’s that me and the chef are always jamming out to. So sick! We had dinner with this family and they invited our investigators over too and we had a way spiritual lesson with them, the members gave bomb testimonies and it really helped. The 2 gators are 2 girls who are going to girls camp, so that’ll help their progress as well. We wanted to go to a graduation for our other gator but we didn’t have the miles 😦

Friday- My first time training at District Meeting! It went really well and I love my district. It is a big district and we work with all of the companionship’s so its fun. We saw tons of members after and it was good to see them. We have 2 kids right now who are 8 and their parents are less-active so we have begun teaching them! I love teaching kids!

Saturday- We ate T-Bell and my slushy dropped and went all over the floor, so embarrassing! We went finding and found some really awesome families that we are going to start to teach. Really excited about that! We went to a members house and she is Jamacian with a Haitian Husband. They left raw meat outside and flies and bugs were all over it and then they decided to cook it up and feed us it! Goodness! And It was Hayden’s baptism! I want to hear all about it!

Sunday- Beautiful Sabbath day. I loved it so much. We had tons of Haitians at church and translating was fine. I was busy running around everywhere. I met a guy who is in the Little Valley stake and says he is going to contact mom when he gets back and say hi for me! I also saw a girl from my high school there too.. Now 2nd time i’ve seen someone in the Naples Ward I’ve know. Small world! We had dinner with our ward mission leader.. the one who sales Bentley’s and Maserati’s!

I am grateful for the work that I am engaged in, I am so thankful for the support I have back at home and I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ who so willingly gave His life for us. Let us all use the Atonement in our lives and appreciate the life of our Redeemer because He does live! Love you all so much and I hope you have a great week!

Good Morning Family! Sorry for the no-email yesterday, all the libraries were closed due to the holiday… Umm yeah what the heck, I’ve been graduated for 2 years? I’m old.. blah!

Tuesday- I cleaned basically all morning because we had house inspections and our house was gross! We had a lot of busy work to do as we got our car fixed and some other chores. We taught Cemy, Jody and Jonathan and just poured our hearts out to those kids. It is sad because they are so close but so far away! Jodi and Jonathan are moving to Texas soon and that’ll be a bummer. We had a family home evening with these little kids and they loved it. Their parents are super less-active and we want to show them we still love their kids!

Wednesday- We had DM and President Summerhays decided to show up and it went well. He talked to me and Wilson about who we thought would be good to get switched to Creole Elders. Some English missionaries get the luxury of switching for a transfer or two.. lame sauce. Had my dumb dentist appointment… let’s just say my tooth is better now, but Elder Thomas was mad! I missed a bomb dinner that night because my mouth was still swollen 😦 We went to activities that night and me and Elder Langi sang hymns while a sister played the piano.

Thursday- I was on exchanges with Elder Cundick, way nice kid, he has as-burgers syndrome but is a boss missionary. We did service that morning and laid down tile in the house, lots of fun, there was a girl there and we all took turns teaching her about the church! We then went knocking and ran into a man named Scott… He went off on us telling us our church wasn’t true and said we worship a different Jesus and that we want to become like Satan and just bashing us hard core. He also made some rude comment to Elder Cundick and I wasn’t having it, I just bore him my testimony and basically told him God loves us so much, he gave us bodies and allowed us a chance to become like him. All worship goes to Him and His son in whom we praise. He just shut up and said another rude comment then shut his door. I was so angry, I about punched the wall. We walked a little ways off into a forest area and prayed for us to have the spirit again.. I was relieved and we continued. Then we knocked into this way sweet Haitian family who allowed us to come in and leave the Saviors peace and blessing! So awesome!!

Friday- We did some finding and hit up some Haitian stores, talked to a couple people but not to successful, I love finding! Talking to Haitians is the best thing ever! We had a dinner that night with a member and it was good. We predicted transfers all day and my guess was different then everyone else.. we’ll see what happens!..

Saturday- Welp, Elder Thomas was right.. I am staying the Naples and getting Elder Olschewski, or “the Chef” the one who loves Dungeons and Dragons! I am so excited because this is his last transfer before going home and I get to be the one to “kill him off”!! I am going to work him to the bone! I was also made the new District Leader which should be fun! We helped a family move all morning and what was good to do some service. Our Bishop took us out to lunch to his dad’s restaurant, good Cuban food! I’m going to miss Elder Wilson, he was a great companion and I know that we will be friends back at home!

Sunday- It was Bernadette’s Birthday and she was so happy to be at church. We translated all day and then Wilson took pictures with people because it was his last Sunday. The sisters made me a shirt I have been meaning to make for a while now, just haven’t had the time. It says on the front.. “I’m in search for..” on the back.. “My Haitian Princess” 🙂 hahaha you know it is clever! Sad though because the sister who made the shirt is the same one who’s grandpa is in our old ward and she has to go home for surgery on her ankle 😦 She is pretty bummed about it. We will miss her, she was a great missionary! We had dinner at a members house and their little kids are so funny! The little girls remind me of my little baby sisters and I miss them so much!

I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the Sabbath a couple days ago. I love you all so much and know that you are all protected! The Lord loves you all so much and wants to bless you! Have a great week and June I wish you the best of luck with your baptism. It will be beautiful and so special. Always remember that Danny loves you 🙂

Sak ap fek fanmi’m!!

don’t google translate that by the way.. it’ll say something about bags.. haha it just means what’s up family! But This week has been epic and so awesome! We concluded the week with 3 baptisms and we are so blessed and grateful for the opportunity we had to bless these peoples lives!

Monday- We had a good p-day, we went on exchanges with this Elder named Elder Langi, he is a boss! He plays football for Utah. Cool Kid. We had dinner with a Spanish member and then picked up this dope couch from another member, he just gave it to us! haha We had fun on our exchange, good memories!

Tuesday- 1 Year in Florida! We sat in Zone Conference all day and it was good, that was are last one with President. We taught Bernadette a little more and figured out the program. We helped the Desire’s with their baptism as well and we were just pumped for the week!

Wednesday- We just made programs all day and then went knocking, we went to activities and and gave Elder Brower (the senior couple) a blessing because he is getting surgery on his eye. It was really spiritual and he appreciated it.

Thursday- We made brownies for the baptism and set up everything and some other Elder gave Bernadette her baptismal interview and she passed with flying colors! We got some BK ice cream before the baptism and found this way awesome Haitian lady we need to follow-up with this week. The baptism was so beautiful. It was Myrlande and Gerard Desire! They were so happy to be re-baptized into the church and we confirmed there too. I gave sister Desire the Holy Ghost in Creole and it was so awesome, best thing ever! The man that baptized them is from Immokalee and his daughter came too and told me how everyone in Mokee misses me and wants me to come back! So funny!

Friday- We did service in the morning and painted this porch fence. It was fun and we talked with some Haitian workers and they loved that we spoke Creole! We printed some pictures off, so i’ll send some to ya’ll soon 🙂

Saturday- best day ever!! First off it was “Haitian Flag Day” which is basically 4th of July for Haitians:)  Bernadette’s baptism was off the chain! I gave the talk on baptism in Creole and then Wilson baptized her. When she got done changing and back in the room she waved her hands in the air was all, “I’m soooo happy!!” it was hilarious! Everyone loved it! She bore her testimony and I translated it but I just started to cry.. She said she split from her husband in Feb. and that she had been praying for someone to be placed in her path for more faith and guidance. Two weeks later we showed up on her door step and then a month in half later she was baptized! Best story of my mission so far! Ah, I love Bernadette!! We then went to a Haitian Flag party in Ft. Myers with all the Haitian-aries and it was lots of fun with tons of good food. We then went to a graduation for an investigator in Ft. Myers and that was fun as well, crazy I’ve been graduated for 2 years.. what the junk?? Time Flies!

Sunday- Church was a little stressful because I had to translate all 3 hours. I was able to give Bernadette the Holy Ghost in Sacrament in Creole again. Such a great experience, I loved it! And so did she!! she started to walk on the stand to give another testimony.. haha! Then while I was translating in Priesthood, the Haitian man just knocked out, snoring and I was just laughing! We had dinner with an English member family who all their little girls remind me of Hayden 😦 we got fed steaks and they were delicious. We drove home in the pouring rain and it was scary but we made it safe:) had a good rest of the night with all the Elders and that concludes the week!

I love my Savior! I am grateful for the chance to serve Him and brings souls unto Him. We have been blessed for our efforts! It is now grind time, to go out and find more people to come unto Him! Wish us luck and pray for our success! Love you all so much 🙂

Talked to my MOM!! May 13, 2013

I love Mothers day! And I had the best time talking to my family!! I love you all so much and thank you for your support. The mission is so great and it helps when people back at home are praying for you! I miss my baby sisters so much and my dear parents. So glad I was able to see all of you 🙂 Hopefully on X-mas I can see the whole family. Chris and Elise included!

Monday- Just like today, last Monday we went to the Pier and played beach volleyball, so much fun and the sand is so soft! We made sand mermaids and buff dudes haha. I was the little Mermaid 🙂 You can call me Ariel 🙂 We played basketball and it was legit, I love playing with Elder Schenk. We own the court! Then the junkin’ sisters wrote on our car windows with paint.. what are we in high school? goodness! Took so long to scratch off. They are shortening our time out here again.. this time by 2 weeks. So I come home now on March 5th! Crazy!

Tuesday- We did service in the morning and painted some walls and put this sticky stuff on the floors for carpet. It was fun! We had a good lesson with Bernadette and she is solid, then we asked Cemy Desire, the son of the 2 parents if he wants to be baptized with them and he said no 😦 We’ll get him soon enough! We through a surprise Birthday Party for Elder Chamberlain and it was way sweet, he turned 19! Young Gun. Then the bishop came with me and Wilson to a way less-active family and it was really spiritual and they committed to come back to church! So stoked!

Wednesday- We had ZDM for like 5 hours it was ridiculous and our ZL’s looooove to talk :/ Kinda just put everyone in a downer mood for the day. We helped the Naples Elders move into their new house and we taught this recent convert. We got pizza at activities and the sister missionaries gave us these pictures of our favorite temple and scripture, way cool!

Thursday- Wilson’s mom sent him a package of “gator” stuff and she bought me a Florida Gator shirt, so nice!! We got things figured out for Bernadette’s Baptism, we are so happy for her! We drove around and tried to find the hospital and found it after an hour. We gave this lady a blessing for the sister missionaries, it was a good experience. She was grateful we came. Then we went to the garden “of hope and courage” haha the hospital has a garden for people to forget their misery and try to gain some hope. Goodness, only in Florida. We knocked for a little and found some good areas to go back as well as some sweet Haitian stores.

Friday- We did service again for that lady and we painted doors and door frames. We helped the sisters out again with another blessing for one of their investigators mom, it was really great as they were both crying and grateful we came. Glad the sisters can really upon us as worthy Priesthood holders to help out their gators! We went to Olive Garden for Elder Chamberlain’s real Birthday and ate so much food. Best place yum!

Saturday- Happy Birthday June Bug 🙂 We did follow-ups all day and talked to some crazy Haitian guy who believes in this false prophet.. and then I owned him with my testimony and we bounced. We just gotta start relying upon the Lord to put people in our path and start focusing on the people who are ready to hear the Gospel! We were placed that night in front of our house to help some Haitian’s move in across the street and they were amazed we spoke Creole. We helped them a ton and there were 2 families and they want to fed us! So legit!

Sunday- Best Mothers day ever!! I was so happy to talk to my family and see their beautiful faces. I was basically bawling and it felt good:) haha I miss them so much. Made my night to see them and talk to them. Happy Mothers Day Mom!! I love you so much, you mean the world to me:)

I love you all and I am grateful to be out here preaching the Gospel, helping all those I can come unto the fold of the Lamb. Keep praying and growing your testimony in Christ. I love you and miss you all. Have a blessed week!

Hello Family and Friends! What’s good!

Tuesday- We went knocking with the Spanish Elders and I got the greenie Booth, it was a lot of fun and some good laughs, some lady asked who was at the door in Spanish and Booth went off doing his normal door approach and no one responded.. I told him next time to just say “the missionaries” and they might open the door. haha We finally saw our up coming baptism Bernadette and she was sooo happy to see us, she hugged us and gave us a kiss on the cheek, such a nice lady! Funny story, we are sitting in our “sanctuary” and Wilson leans back in his chair and hits our window and just shatters it! so funny!!

Wednesday- I woke up so sick, I didn’t know what had happened, good thing it rained alllll day and our work was slow. We had DM and that was fine, we had a dinner with some members who fed us a little “Utah” as we like to call it… or Hawaiian Haystacks! We went to activities and played tag in the parking lot with the youth, it was a lot of fun. I got better towards the end of the night which was good! Then… We sat in our house and watched three kids get arrested outside our house for weed and a stolen car!! So funny! We went outside to get some better action and talked with the neighbor who knows the kid, it was just hilarious! Good times in Naples.

Thursday- We taught Bernadette again and she is solid to be baptized for May 18th! So pray for her that it will all go as planned! We then had dinner with all the missionaries at our Bishops house and that was a lot of fun, we talked about Harry Potter and they called me a nerd (Brynn we are in the same boat) and then the bishop’s wife made me Butterbeer!! haha so funny. Then we taught the Desire family on prayer and then Wilson had to go do an interview for baptism with the other Elders. We gave the sisters blessings because they are going through some tough times and it was way spiritual! They are a great asset to the work down here!

Friday- We went to a members house who knows Jacky and apparently he played us the whole time we were teaching him.. He doesn’t believe in religion and doesn’t even like the Mormon faith, so lame. He thinks we worship Nephi.. yeah Nephi is a boss but Nephi? No way.. so lame! I got a package from my mom and that made my whole day! I love you mom! Can’t wait to see you in a couple days!

Saturday- We went to 2 baptisms and they were great! The Bishop’s son got baptized and invited me and Elder Schenk to bare our testimonies, it was powerful and great as he had tons of non-member family members there. We had some bomb food after the baptism also. We saw some members and taught them and then drove down to a less-active members house and taught them a lesson and ate some good Haitian food. basically just ate all day and saw members, it was a good day.

Sunday- I had to translate testimonies in Creole and then a Haitian-mommy wanted to bear hers so I got up in front of everyone and translated to English.. so sketch. Then a water pipe broke and the water in the whole building shut off so they canceled church for the day. Good thing we had our solid investigators at church! We tried to find some more members and teach them, got lost because Elder Wilson looked at the address wrong and took us the wrong way! haha We finally found her and she was about to feed us Pig’s Feet so we bounced! Eww!  We went to an open house for a kid who lives here and is going to serve his mission in Provo. We had some awesome news that night. The Desire Family is waiting to see if they can get re-baptized and the results came back and we can baptize them! We shared the great news with them and they were sooo happy! They choose the date to be May 16th! We are so excited for them! Hopefully the son will choose to be baptized with them!

Baptism is the way to Our Father in Heaven, it is the first saving ordinance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so happy my baby sister June will be making this step in her life. It is a huge commitment and a beautiful promise. I want you to know that baptism is how we follow Our Savior. If you want to know how to best Follow Jesus Christ.. Go to church and renew your covenants with Heavenly Father and have a new hope of following His Son. Repent and come unto Him as the Bible states. It is true, He will forgive us, I know of this myself in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

April 29, 2013

Good Morning Family!! So things are real great on this end expect for the fact that Mother’s day is in 2 weeks and I don’t have a clue what my families new address is! And I haven’t heard from them in close to 3 weeks.. Goodness! Just kidding, I love you guys! Keep staying busy 🙂

Monday- After P-day we went knocking and gave this family a sweet Saviors peace and blessing, they are now working with the English Elders so I hope they are positive! We had a funny/scary experience with one of our members.. We were joking around at first that she might have passed away (not funny I know) And then it turned serious and we were freaking out, but then on Tuesday morning it turned back into laughs because she was really fine.. long story short, people need to stop loosing Haitians!!

Tuesday- Got my dang boot off and that was a blessing! I’m fine and can’t wait to get back on the court 😉 haha just kidding! I’ll take it easy! We had great lessons with Jacquiy, just trying to prepare him for his baptism. And we taught Jody, Jonathan and Cemy about repentance and obedience and it was great! We used like every analogy in the book it was awesome.

Wednesday- We had an interview with Jacquiy for his baptism and he aced it! We made programs for his baptism and called everyone in our phone to come on Saturday. We then went and played football/dodge ball with this little boy named Darlins. Funny kid, just a little trouble maker at times. We went to a Haitian store and they gave us this jar of Picklies for free. so nice!!

Thursday- We went to Darlins school to each lunch with him and that was way fun, then his mom fed us Pye Kabrit or in English.. Goat Feet! Eww… eww.. sickest thing ever! I don’t know what was worse.. me eating it or listening to the Haitian lady eat it like a savage. Blah!! We had a good lesson with a couple of girls on the Plan of Salvation and they asked great questions! This one girl is really positive and we want to teach her whole family!

Friday- Probably the toughest day of my whole mission.. long story short… Jacquiy canceled last minute and said he doesn’t want to get baptized. I’ve never been so crushed in my life. My heart and stomach just ached all day. I’ve never cried so much and prayed so much. Everything will be ok, he will get baptized and this will be a learning experience. I know my Savior lives and loves each of His children and through the Atonement Jacquiy can be healed and mended again. He healed my heart that day and I will continue to work hard! We taught this J-Dub kid named Dunvar and he is way nice and asks great questions, his mom is Bernadette who has a date set for May 18th so hopefully that’ll impact him and we can start to work with him! I had Haitian watermelon soda for the first time… oh my heaven. game over!! We had dinner at our bishops house and we ate steak! So good! I gave the spiritual thought and his non-member sister was there and she started to cry. It was a great experience and I was thankful to be the instrument in the Lord’s hand in helping her feeling the Holy Ghost. I buzzed my hair again because it is so hot her! And when it’s long and I put stuff in my hair, bugs are attracted to hit and I hate them around my ears! So It looks nice short 🙂

Saturday- I had a personal study on the Book of Mormon that just rocked my world. I know with all my soul and heart that book is true. There is no possible way its not! I encourage you all to read it, study it and pray about it. I came to know of the truthfulness through just that, search, ponder and pray! We found a lizard on Elder Booth’s clothes and it was funny trying to catch it. We ate deep cleaned our whole house and ate Panda Express for dinner Yum!

Sunday- We have the sickest leaders and members here in Naples. I love working with the two wards! And the ward mission leader got on everyone’s case about not feeding us so we have like 3 dinners this week 🙂 I didn’t have to translate this week which was a good break and Elder Schenk an English Elder was basically my comp for the day! It was awesome. Some lady gave a talk in church and was all like, “I hate church, I hate coming here each week and I hate my family.” we all were like no… it turned out to be an ok talk but she was ridiculous up there saying she hates all this stuff haha. We had dinner at a members house and ate spaghetti. It was fun and good company. Solid Sabbath.

Well Family and Friends, I love you guys so much! I appreciate you and the support you give me. I know I sound like a broken record but I really am thankful for all the love you give me. I am blessed and protected out here because of the prayers you offer in behalf of me! I pray for you all and I know He answers. Have a great week and keep praying:)
